Yr 10 Service Pupils Event
An opportunity for a group of Year 10 service pupils to take part in on-water and land-based activities at Andrew Simpson Watersports Centre. Activities may include kayaking, paddleboarding, mega paddleboards and climbing.

Kenwood Visit
The Kenwood trip offers an incredible opportunity for young girls interested in STEM to connect with women who have forged successful careers in the field. Through engaging Q&A sessions and hands-on problem-solving tasks, attendees will gain invaluable insights into the exciting world of engineering. This immersive experience will not only expose them to role models in STEM but also provide a platform to learn, network, and foster their passion for engineering.
This trip is for aspiring women in STEM from our students.

An event at Team Sport Go-Karting in Gosport for those who are service pupils, across Years 10 - 13.
Year 9 Transition Week
A week for all the new Year 10s joining us in September 2026. This will be an opportunity to meet with students, speak to teachers and sample what a week is like at UTC Portsmouth.
Turing Scheme - France
Travelling to Marseille, France. The trip will be giving students the opportunity to develop their skills, gain international experience and boost their employability as well as improving language skills and learning about other cultures.
Summer Showcase
3 days for our students to be off timetable and working on projects focused around our 6 STEM habits.
There will be an exhibition to showcase the work on the Friday afternoon, open to all parents and guardians.
Skiing trip to Saalbach-Hinterglem, Austria
Open to Year 11 and Year 13 students - an opportunity to learn how to ski.

Year 12 EPQ Southampton Library Visit
A trip for Year 12 students undertaking the EPQ to visit Southampton Hartley Library. There will be academic skills taught by university staff and research in the university’s library.
Gold DofE Expedition
An expedition for Year 12 DofE students, supported by staff, to allow students to practice navigation, tentcraft and cooking skills before their qualifying expedition.
University of Portsmouth Computing Taster Day
For Year 12 students studying Computer Science and Digital T Level courses - workshops covering Data Science and AI, Networking and then either Computer Science or Cybersecurity. There will also be a tour of the facilities and a talk with current UoP students about studying a Computing Course at UoP.
UTC Portsmouth Comic Con
Our very own Comic Con - celebrating everything fandom! Whether it’s Sci Fi, Fantasy anything in between, this is a week to share what we love. There will be events throughout the week for students and the wider community to participate in, and (of course) our annual Comic Con cosplay day!

An opportunity for the Year 10 Duke of Edinburgh Silver students to practice navigation ahead of the main expedition.
A full day trip to South Harting.
Goodwood Motor Circuit Trip
As part of the STEM racing enrichment for Years 10 and 11, an opportunity to experience a professional motorsport facility and understand its day-to-day operations.
This event will take place at Goodwood Motor Circuit, Chichester.
Havant Rotary Technology Tournament 2026
A challenge for select Year 10 students, to design, develop, build and test a solution to an unknown technical challenge. This event is taking place at Horndean Technology College.
Yr 11 Geography Field Trip
Our fieldwork will take place at Juniper Hall in Dorking and will be a one night residential stay to enable students to complete both the physical and human fieldwork element. The trip will encompass the physical element where the focus will be on Rivers.
Destinations Week
A week where we focus on potential career paths for our students. There will be mock interviews for Yr 10 and Yr 12 students, a careers fair and guest speakers to talk about the options and how to explore the next steps available to all students.

Pi Week
Celebrating mathematical pi! There will be challenges, competitions and insightful sessions for students and those within the community.
IRIS Multi-messenger Launch Event
Launch event for all Year 12 students taking part in the IRIS Multi-messenger research project., taking place at the University of Portsmouth. This will support students in the conduct of their project, providing background information and training on the software they will use. Students will also have the opportunity to learn about analysing data from the Gravitational Waves Transient Observer.

2026 Cambridge Chemistry Race
Originating as a Czech competition, the Cambridge Chemistry Race is organised with the support of the Department of Chemistry, University of Cambridge. Selected teams from years 12 and 13 will be competing.
