HRH the Duke of Gloucester visits UTC Portsmouth

It was a huge privilege to welcome HRH the Duke of Gloucester to the college last week to find out more about how our Employer Partners support the student experience at the college. His Royal Highness was accompanied by the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire and the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth.

After meeting our student leadership team, he visited a Year 13 A level Product Design class where the University of Portsmouth were giving students feedback on the NEAs related to architecture.  It was then off to one of our Science labs to see Year 11 students working with Biomedical Science specialists from Portsmouth University Hospital NHS Trust on histology and microbiology related experiments.

The opportunity to work with our employer partners  is what makes UTC Portsmouth such a unique learning experience and we really enjoyed the opportunity to showcase that to such an important visitor.
