Students at UTC Portsmouth are receiving their A level and equivalent results today, with the college celebrating another high run of outcomes for 2025. Results show a 20% increase in students achieving AAB or higher, with overall grades across both A level and A level equivalent courses seeing a clear uplift.
T Level students also performed exceptionally well, with 100% achieving a Merit or Distinction - meaning no student received a Pass or lower - strongly exceeding the national and regional averages from last year.
STEM subjects performed particularly well, with top results achieved in Engineering, Maths, and English. Progress was also strong and improving in Engineering, Product Design, and Geography.
Students are heading to a variety of impressive destinations. Top university choices this year include Southampton University, Imperial College London, Bath University, and the University of Oxford. Others have secured highly competitive apprenticeships, including with Airbus and QinetiQ - both Employer Partners of UTC Portsmouth - demonstrating how the college’s strong employer links provide students with access to post-18 options through its partnerships, including Pipeline projects and work placements.
James Doherty, Principal at UTC Portsmouth, said:
“UTC Portsmouth celebrates another high run of results for 2025. We have seen a 20% rise in the number of students receiving results of AAB or higher, and an overall rise in the grades achieved by both A level and A level equivalent students. This was also our very first full set of T Level results - to have 100% of our students achieve a Merit or above is an incredible achievement. Well done all!”
